About GAEL Tours

GAEL Tours is a small business in the historic seaside port of Digby, Nova Scotia.
We are located on the shores of the Annapolis Basin in an area designated as the Fundy Aquarium Ecozone. Digby is also located in the UNESCO designated Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve. Home to the world's largest scallop fleet, seafood is one of our main attractions.

Leading people to discover the features of this amazing area is a natural extension of a passion I have for nature, history and culture. A life-long resident of the area, I have retired after 31 years as a biology, chemistry and environmental studies educator at Digby Regional High School. I dabble in photography, birding, hiking and discovering new things about the flora and fauna of Nova Scotia. I also spend time on the soccer field as a referee and referee mentor.

The scenery is impressive, but it's your experiences in the Digby area that will provide you with a lifetime of memories. Come with me to the edge of the Bay of Fundy to discover what brings the giant whales to the Bay in our Plankton, Periwinkles and Predators adventure. Hopefully, you will give us the opportunity to take you on a stroll through our town as we recount the tales of settlers and seafarers in our Stones, Steeples, Ships and Seafood tour. Sample fare from the sea as you learn about the fishing industry.

Make a day out of it and do both tours or take advantage of our package with Petit Passage Whale Watch. Make a week out of it and explore the area with any of several excellent tour operators. I highly recommend, Fundy Adventures, Kathleen's Shuttle and Tours, The Toymaker's Marsh, Stone Bear Tracks and Trails, Hinterland Adventures and Gear.
